Dame Anne and Jeremy Salmond

We have been working with Ecoworks since 2003, restoring Longbush and revegetating areas of our land on Riverside Road.  Steve is a pleasure to work with – extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and he always goes the extra mile.  Our restoration project would have been impossible without Steve’s support.  He has prepared successful bids for us to the Biodiversity Fund, and generated some brilliant ideas.  We are learning a great deal, working with Steve and his team, and the bush has come to life again, with rare species of plants and animals returning as the pests are removed, and our new plantings are thriving.  We have the highest regard for Steve and Robyn and their team, and recommend Ecoworks without reservation.

Gisborne District Council

Ecoworks have been employed by the Gisborne District Council for the last two & half years.  Their mission has been to manage the weed problem on Titrangi reserve in specific areas.  Ecoworks have accepted this challenge & the results have been simply amazing.  Eliminating noxious weeds (which there seems to be a never ending supply), replanting with native species & re-grassing below the first lookout have been the first priority.  2003 saw the first tree removal operation where non native trees were removed & the replanting of natives took place.  Ecoworks commenced work on the noxious weeds & within a short timeframe that part of hill was transformed & many positive comments were received from the public.  A decision was made to keep Ecoworks involved in the work on Titirangi & to continue down the slope towards Kaiti Beach Road.  Earlier this year another tree removal operation took place which saw a large number of pines removed off site particularly around the stairs which is a popular fitness trail for the public.  Ecoworks have replanted and continue the weed eradication programme.   Titirangi is a challenging site to manage as it contains a high volume of weed seed material but the transformation to revegetate this site to its original state is happening & a large part of this is due to the work that Ecoworks is undertaking. Impressive work & the public continue to watch  the transformation of Titrangi!

QEII National Trust

I have been working with Steve Sawyer and his team “Eco Works” for quite a few years now on QE2 National Trust covenants in the Gisborne/Wairoa area.

The partnership is very reliable and money from the Biodiversity Fund has increased the capacity to improve protection 100%

I had a lot of trouble to find a firm that I could trust at the beginning , who knew which tree was important, and which weeds to target.  His previous DOC experience is invaluable to me in the National Trust work.
