Animal Pest Control

Ecoworks NZ has designed and managed a wide range of vertebrate pest control projects.

Pest Control is a key part of any wildlife or habitat restoration programme in New Zealand.

Ecoworks NZ uses recognised and best practice trapping methodology to efficiently control or eradicate target species for the client. Ecoworks NZ works with the Department of Conservation and other pest control agencies to ensure that best practice techniques and animal welfare guidelines are followed and the most up to date trapping equipment and methods are utilised for all projects.

All trap catch data is managed using gps, trapping databases and digital mapping. Pre and post control density indexing is also undertaken if requested by the client. Comprehensive reporting is produced for each project.

Ecoworks NZ controls mustelids at a number of restoration sites using best practice methods, standard trap spacing, baiting regimes and trap and set design.

A range of techniques are used to control, eradicate and monitor rodents including the use of snap traps, bait stations, tracking tunnels and gnaw sticks.
